Living in Brentwood offers a sparse suburban feel. It boasts beautiful views of Mt. Diablo. It began as an agricultural community and is best known for it’s cherries, corn and peaches. During the 1990’s many of the farms were replaced by suburban developments. Brentwood is located along the California Delta, and offers many outdoor activities such as boating, water sports, hiking, trails, parks, seasonal cherry picking and wildlife sightings. Brentwood is also home to 3 local award winning wineries – Bloomfield, Tamayo, and Hannah Nicole.
Brentwood’s public education system has about 9 elementary, 4 middle, and 4 high schools, Independence High School, Liberty High School, Freedom High School and Heritage High School.
Brentwood offers plenty of shopping with many large shopping centers as well as the Streets of Brentwood, Sand Creek Crossing and Lone Tree Plaza. These centers offer a variety of stores as well as restaurants. Downtown Brentwood has a quaint collection of antique stores and restaurants as well as hosting a Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8 am – noon March-mid November.
