Concord

The focal point of downtown Concord is Todos Santos Plaza, which encompasses an entire city block and is known for its farmers market, free summer concerts, and large number of surrounding restaurants and shops. Close to Todos Santos is a movie theater as well as two Concord Bay Area Rapid Transit Stations (Concord Bart Station  and North Concord Bart Station) which provide transportation for commuters to Oakland and San Francisco International Airports as well as San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and many cities in the South Bay, Alameda County and Contra Costa County. Concord offers plenty of shopping options including the Sun Valley Mall and an outdoor complex, The Veranda which has many retailers, restaurants, a luxury theater, wine bar, arcade, gym, grocery store and many more shops.

Concord is the home to John Muir Health Medical Center which recently earned the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® Heart Failure Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award. This award recognizes John Muir Health’s commitment and success in implementing a high standard of heart failure care for patients by ensuring they receive treatment that meets nationally accepted, evidence-based standards and recommendations.

There are many housing choices in Concord and it is an affordable city in comparison to the surrounding areas. Concord has 4 high schools, Concord HighClayton Valley Charter High SchoolMt. Diablo High School and Ygnacio Valley High. It also has 2 prestigious private schools, De La Salle High School and Carondelet.
